MSU Events Celebrate New and Returning Students on Campus This Month

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State is preparing to welcome new and returning Bulldogs to campus this month with a series of student-oriented events leading up to the fall semester.

From freshman and transfer student orientations to community-building exercises, MSU is providing support to the new additions and the returning students as they transition back to campus life.

“The start of a new academic year at Mississippi State always brings excitement and enthusiasm. This fall, we are particularly excited to embrace our incoming students and their families into the Bulldog community,” stated Regina Hyatt, vice president for Student Affairs. “We have a multitude of opportunities for students to engage in, from student groups to campus events, all aimed at fostering connections and aiding in their academic journey. We are eager to assist our students in their growth and success as they join the Bulldog family.”

New Maroon Camp, Aug. 11-15. A record number of around 2,200 students will join New Maroon Camp 2024, the 10th iteration of this student-run retreat that eases new Bulldogs into MSU. Student-counselors will spend five days introducing freshmen and transfers to the university’s history and traditions, showcasing key campus areas. Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment, Aug. 15-19. Pre-registered participants will partake in Fall Panhellenic Recruitment for a chance to cultivate lifelong friendships and engage in meaningful experiences. Stay updated by following @msu_panhellenic on social media or visiting www.greeks.msstate.edu.

Dawg Days, Aug. 16-25. Dawg Days’ 19th edition offers a range of entertainment options, including trivia, game nights, free food, giveaways, and social mixers to inform and engage students.
