History of Parental Accountability for Their Children’s Offenses

Just three days prior to her 15-year-old son carrying out a mass shooting at his Michigan high school in 2021, Jennifer Crumbley was caught on camera leaving a shooting range with the handgun.

She had recently taken her son to practice shooting, calling it a “mom and son day” to try out his new Christmas present: a 9-millimeter pistol that he referred to online as “My new beauty.”

The images played a crucial role in this groundbreaking conviction, which legal experts believe could provide a new tool for prosecutors in the fight against increasing mass shootings.

“This is the last picture we have of that gun until we see it murder four kids on Nov. 30, and the person holding it is Jennifer Crumbley,” stated Oakland
