The doors will open at 1:30 p.m. This event is open to the public and admission is free.

The program will last for approximately 40 minutes and will include various pieces such as Clifton Williams’ “Strategic Air Command March,” a tribute to his former U.S. Air Force unit. Also included is the jazz piece “Sevens,” “Regenesis,” which pays homage to the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens in Washington state and the regenerative properties of Earth in the subsequent years. Samuel Hazo’s “Mountain Thyme” and the oriental composition “Chinese Folk Rhapsody” will also be performed.

The director of the band, Johnny Folsom, who is also a lecturer and supervisor for student interns in the MSU Department of Music, is anticipating a large crowd for the concert.

“I am confident that those in attendance will be astounded by what these volunteer musicians have accomplished through their once-a-week rehearsals,” he stated.
