STARKVILLE, Miss.— Mississippi State University’s Department of Kinesiology is organizing the fifth edition of the StarkVegas Fútbol Jamboree scheduled for Saturday, April 6, on the university’s campus.

Accessible to all age groups and skill levels, the event will commence at 9 a.m. at the Fresh Fields on Stone Boulevard and will feature 3v3 soccer tournaments. Team registration costs $30 and can be done at https://svfj.weebly.com/. Those looking to volunteer, officiate, or sponsor the occasion can find additional details through the provided link.

Graduate students in MSU’s sport administration program are coordinating the jamboree in partnership with the university’s ACCESS program, which caters to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The primary objective of the event is to unite members of the Starkville community and beyond while showing support for students with special needs.

“The jamboree presents invaluable hands-on learning opportunities for our event management students, enabling them to organize and oversee a sports event within our community,” mentioned Soyoun Lim, assistant professor of kinesiology and director of the jamboree. “We aspire that this event fosters physical activity and inclusivity in Starkville and adjacent areas.”

Prizes will be awarded to the champions in each of the six categories. To obtain further information, reach out to Lim at s.lim@msstate.edu.

MSU’s College of Education encompasses five academic departments, a division of education, a research unit, and multiple service units. Discover more about the Department of Kinesiology at https://www.kinesiology.msstate.edu/.
