Mississippi State and Starkville come together for Homecoming festivities

STARKVILLE, Miss.—The Mississippi State University Alumni Association has announced the dates for the 2024 Homecoming event from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3. This festive occasion will honor the spirit of MSU and the lively community of Starkville this autumn.

This year’s festivities guarantee an unforgettable experience as MSU and Starkville come together to invite students, alumni, and families to enjoy a weekend filled with food, entertainment, and football.

“Collaborating with the Greater Starkville Development Partnership, the MSU Alumni Association is thrilled to host a Homecoming weekend packed with engaging events and activities for the entire community,” stated Jeff Davis, Executive Director of the MSU Alumni Association. “We look forward to alumni and friends reflecting on their time at State, rediscovering campus and Starkville, and forming new memories while reconnecting with MSU and fellow Bulldogs.”

The celebration begins on Thursday, Oct. 31, with the Young Alumni Welcome to the City gathering at Fire Station Park.

A diverse range of events scheduled throughout the weekend guarantee enjoyable activities catering to various interests.

Friday, Nov. 1: 

—Prospective Student Admissions Tours: Explore the campus and gain insights into academic programs at MSU.

—Museum Tours: Tour the Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library, the Frank and Virginia Williams Collection of Lincolniana, the Dunn-Seiler Museum, the Mississippi Entomological Museum, and the John Grisham Room.

—MAFES Cheese Store: Open to visitors on both Friday and Saturday.

—Welcome Table at the Welcome Center next to the Barnes & Noble Bookstore: Socialize with fellow Bulldogs.

—True Maroon Trek: Participate in the 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run organized by Alumni Delegates, the Student Association, and Maroon VIP student groups.

—Step Show at Newell Grissom: Tickets will be available for purchase at a later date.

Saturday, Nov. 2: 

—Tailgate at The Mill: Celebrate the Homecoming Court presentation and gather in designated areas for reunion years. To purchase tickets, visit https://msstatealumni.ticketspice.com/msu-vs-umass-homecoming-gameday-tailgate.

—Football Game vs. UMass: Support the Bulldogs during the Homecoming and Family Weekend game. Kickoff at 3:15 p.m. Single game tickets are available at hailstate.com/PromoCode: Use Alumni Code: HC24 

Sunday, Nov. 3: 

—Nondenominational Service at the Chapel of Memories: Sponsored by the Office of Parent Services at 9:30 a.m.

—Brunch and Browse: Hosted downtown by the Greater Starkville Development Partnership.
