To all high school educators,
In schools throughout the United States, discussions about the upcoming 2024 presidential election are expected to take center stage in various settings, including casual chats in hallways, spirited debates around lunch tables, and structured lessons led by teachers—both planned and spontaneous. This autumn, American voters will once again head to the polls, with the same two frontrunners as in the previous election cycle. The upcoming 2024 election may evoke memories of the turbulent 2020 presidential race and its aftermath.
Your role is pivotal as you instruct students during this crucial historical moment.
As the excitement around the presidential election intensifies, The New York Times’ Headway team is eager to gather your insights. What are your students’ perspectives on this election? How do you plan to approach teaching this topic? Do you have any specific queries?
Share your thoughts in our brief survey below, and expect to hear from us soon. (Although we are particularly interested in hearing from educators who work with current high school juniors and seniors, educators from all backgrounds are encouraged to participate!)
Do you have students who could offer valuable insights? We also have a separate survey specifically tailored for high school juniors and seniors. Are there current students in these grades who would be interested in participating in our project? Share the student survey here.
